Please add

root=/dev/ram0

to your kernel command line.

Or, you can use rdev to modify the kernel image directly:

rdev /some/where/bzImage /dev/ram0

The original kernel images in CDlinux 0.9.6.1 and earlier are already modified with rdev. So you don't need to add the root=/dev/ram0 option if you are using a vanilla CDlinux kernel image.

The .config file is inside the kernel patches tarball.

For example. If you want to compile your own kernel for CDlinux 0.9.6.1, go to the Package List page of 0.9.6.1. Download the kernel patches tarball. Then

tar -jxpf /some/where/linux-2.6.33_cdl3.patches.tar.bz2

and there you go.

This is a development release. Built with our new, gcc-4.6 based toolchain. In fact, every bit in 0.9.7 was rebuilt from scratch. And almost all components were upgraded to their latest stable version.

Our tests show that, this release is already quite stable and ready for general use. But to ensure long-term production use, more tests and fine-tunings are still needed.

This release is a major upgrade. Almost all components are upgraded to their latest stable version, like Linux-2.6.33.2, Xorg-server-1.8.0, Mesa-7.8.1.

Thanks to the open source ATi and Intel drivers, when now have farely good 2D/3D support on almost all ATi and Intel chip based video cards. PAE is also enabled in this release. As a result, we can support up to 64G RAM now. While the downside is that you can't run CDlinux 0.9.6 on older CPUs (5×86, K6, Pentium, etc.) anymore, eve…

By default, CDlinux tries to guess the best resolution for your monitor. But sometimes it may fail, and you get a blank screen or a message like “Out of range”, “Input not supported”, or something like that.

If this happened, you can press the “Enter” key twice. And CDlinux will restart X with a safe resolution. In most case, this will solve the problem.
