This is yet another maintenance release concentrating on stability and usability. Almost all major packages except X are upgraded to their latest stable versions. 0.9.5 will be the last version using the good, “old” xorg-7.4. In the upcoming 0.9.6, we'll upgrade to the brand new xorg-7.5.

There are only a few new features:

  • add abiword back and upgrade to 2.8.1
  • korean support
  • more optional add-on “modules”

And some bug fixes:

  • modify rc.font to omit removable devices

Package upgrades:

  • linux-2.6.31.6

  • cups-1.4.2

CDlinux 0.9.3 released

- 2009/07/20

This version added two missing blocks to CDlinux: devel & dri. The new “devel” module is an attempt to help users compile additional drivers/applications for CDlinux. It now supports compiling the official Linux kernel as well as some 3rd party kernel modules. And Mesa3D was added to the Community Edition for those who may want to run 3D applications/games.

This version also fixed several bugs found in previous versions:

  • a possible race between amount and hal
  • a bug that prevents udev's persistent rules from working properly
  • a bug that may make cdlinux fail to save persistent data - Thanks Andrei Mircea for identifying this bug

And all major packages were upgraded to their latest version. Including:

  • linux-2.6.30.2
  • aufs2-20090720
  • xorg-server-1.6.2
  • xfce-4.6.1
  • gtk-2.16.5
  • qt-4.5.2
  • firefox-3.5.1
  • jre-6u14

etc..

As always, the Standard Edition can be found at SourceForge.net. And all the three editions can also be downloaded from the download page. The full package list and source patches can be found here. And the release notes is here.
